- Dust Box scored distribution in US - they own the world rights now. HOPEFULLY it will be released towards the end of 2013/early 2014. We are, however, putting out a LIMITED TO 5 COPIES release on Dust Box to our Facebook friends. Let the battle begin!

- Me and my friend Daniela Melin made a film called Goodbye, Little Betty. It's awesome. We shot it for no money and with a phone. It's awesome. You can read some reviews:

PREMIERE + REVIEW

The cast/crew premiere this past weekend went great! Had a good time, and everyone seemed to get along well. It was essentially a meeting of several of my friends, so it could've gone either way. But it went excellent! It started with some pizza, then Récompence, and finally Dust Box. Both films are interesting to watch on the big screen (with Récompence I can't help but notice a few issues we had during filming). Thanks to Rickard Gramfors of Klubb Super 8 for letting us have the premiere at his place in Lakene!

DUST BOX IS ALIVE

The movie was finished recently, and we have some updates to give you.

First of all, two reviews! The first one is by Annie Riordan, and it's extremely positive. The second one by Tommy Söderberg isn't quite so positive:

Those two were the first to get to review the film. I have since also sent out 12 letters to reviewers and sponsors (at IndieGoGo). THIRD AND FINAL WEEKEND AHEAD

In a few hours the entire gang will be together again, for the third and final weekend of filming. Can't wait for the editing process to officially start!

FIRST WEEKEND DONE

The first weekend of filming is officially over. It was a very interesting experience. Problematic? Sure. Stressful? Sure. But it was definitely a good weekend, we had a good time and we got a lot of fantastic scenes done. Can't wait to continue this coming weekend!

ABOUT TIME, EH?!

Yeah, it's about time I post an update here! Well, that's not all - it's about time we start filming DUST BOX! Yes, it's finally here. Started writing the script over a year ago, which makes this the longest "pre-production" of mine (usually being around a month, tops). What can I say, I like to work fast!

Anyway, we start filming on saturday (2 June 2012), so that's very fucking soon. Tomorrow our lovely actress will get here, as well as my trusted camera man and my long-time friend/his girlfriend. So that means it will be a full house here, but also that we'll be more than ready to shoot! Not sure how many weekends it will take (and they won't be in a row, so we might continue filming some in July).

This year has been hell in my head, but I am about to get the exorcism I need.

As for other news... A new draft of Dust Box has been written. We are still looking at a spring filming if all goes as planned. The budget hasn't grown, which is a bummer, but it will be made either way.

As many of you know, I released the movie for free through Megaupload, but since that page has been raped now it's not available for download (neither are my other films - VG, MM and even Récompence which I released for free at the same time). I will probably upload Regissören again, but interest doesn't seem to be too big anyway so the people who wanted it probably have it already!

I've started rewriting Dust Box now and it's going well. Added lots of scenes, and spent some time with my cinematographer last weekend where we went through some scenes. Got some good stuff up our sleeves!

I SHOT HER

I shot a pretty good scene with Amelie yesterday. Happy with how it turned out and what it adds to the movie, even though it was just one scene.

JUST A FEW STEPS

There's only three major scenes left to shoot, but the reason it's taking a while is because we need people in the scenes that aren't Ronny god damn Carlsson! Or do we? Maybe it's better to just have me on there, doing a little dance.. Who knows?

But either way, I hope to see the film in it's finished state in November if we're lucky. I have some fun plans of distribution for it, so we'll see what happens.

FILMING ENDING

Tomorrow I will be filming the ending to my secret project, and I'm doing it with someone I've never met before. I'm sure it will turn out great, but clearly I'm nervous. You never know, right?! But... fuck it, nothing can go wrong when you have the force of a shitty camcorder in your hands.

A little update then... We have good and bad news about Dust Box. Sadly, because of scheduling that just don't work for either of us, Michael Todd Schneider won't be making the props for Dust Box. Clearly we will work together at other times - one of these days maybe even co-create something. For now, we wish him luck on his other projects (as plural as ever!).

The good news is about Michael's replacement, which will be none other than Marcus Koch! Marcus has quite an impressive filmography behind him. As a director he's made such titles as 100 Tears and Fell. And under special effects.. Fuck, where should I start? 100 Tears, Andreas Schnaas' Nikos The Impaler, H.G. Lewis' The Uh-Oh Show, Sweatshop, The Theatre Bizarre, Slow Torture Puke Chamber, and so on! (for a longer list: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1155596/)

I have uploaded a little sneaky sneak of a poster art I did for the film I'm currently doing.

To quote my comment on Facebook about it (I blame laziness):

Title and tagline aren't on this, to keep it on the low key a bit more.

I had to make a poster with my name huge as fuck, since Trier has his own Melancholia poster ;) Someone said that when a director has himself on the poster of a film he directed, something's wrong. So I did my own take on it!"

FILMING 9/23

Did some filming yesterday for my current project. I think it went great! It's gonna be fun putting the final film together, but it's a long way till I get there. I hope to get more shot soon. Better do it before the snow comes!

INSPIRATION

It's weird how something can just punch you in the face with inspiration when you least expect it. And at other times, something you expected would inspire you leaves you completely empty. I just watched the movie Viy (1967). A very good russian movie, atmospheric, creepy, great effects for the time, and just overall a pleasant watch. But nothing. Normally horror oddities like these inspire me greatly, so much that idea after idea will pop up while watching it. Sometimes stuff that helps me with the current movie I am making, but in most cases it's ideas that requires an all new movie idea altogether. Another good movie I watched that didn't inspire in the least was Wound (2010). The last film that really inspired was Seeking Wellness (2008). It didn't inspire me to make something of the same kind, but parts of it really got my brain going in the right direction. I really need to thank the movies I watch more often than I do.

I should also add that I'm not bashing the movies that didn't inspire me, it's not that I am calling the movies themselves "uninspiring". Maybe next time I watch them they do. I can't control what ideas should pop into my head at what times!

NEWEST PROJECT

I hope to start filming my latest project (again, NOT Dust Box) next week. This is just a fun try-and-fail-no-promoting project, much like Video Geisteskrank was. I am looking forward to it like hell because it will keep me busy during the winter (but my brain will still have a heart attack... wait a minute, how does that work?.. over Dust Box). You shouldn't expect anything, it won't deliver what you expect anyway.
